I don’t know if this is your first time knowing about Rosehip oil, but if it is, then you’re really missing a lot. Sincerely speaking I have known about rosehip oil for a long time, but have been hesitant to use this very oil on my skin — because of the fact that I have an oily skin, so, I was scared of breakouts or having excess oiliness, not until I slot in The Ordinary rosehip oil into my skincare routine, that was when I knew my perspective was very wrong.

This oil have been in my routine for a week and some days, therefore, I think it’s the right time to give my honest review and experience on this product.

What Is Rosehip Oil?

Rosehip oil also known as rosehip seed oil, is derived from the rosa canina rose bush, which is grown mostly in Chile. Rosehip oil is pressed from the fruit and seeds of the rose plant. It’s referred as a “dry oil” which means it’s light-weight and sinks into the skin faster. 100% cold pressed rosehip oil contains vitamin C and vitamin A. It also contains essential fatty acids such as: oleic acid, palmitic acid, inoleic acid, gamma linolenic acid.

My Honest Review On The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil.

The Ordinary rosehip oil review

My experience with The Ordinary’s rosehip oil has been wonderful. Initially I wasn’t expecting much from this oil as I just wanted to give it a shot and see how it goes, and it turned out to give me goodies.

Was It Moisturizing?

First thing first, this oil is super hydrating. My skin literally drinks it up. Anytime I apply this rosehip oil I feel the intense touch of hydration, my skin feels well hydrated and happy. This oil comes at the second-to-last-step in my skincare routine — before my moisturizer. I sometimes mix some drops of this oil with my moisturizer in the palm of my hand before application. I love the hydration hit it gives to my skin.

Effect on Skin Tone.

My skin tone was enhanced, although there wasn’t any much dramatic brightening, however I saw some improvement on my acne scars, — which I had few of them on my cheek, they slightly-faded (turning from black to brown).

There was a similar case on Reddit, where a reddit-user shared a mind-blowing review of how rosehip oil helped clear her left over acne scars — known as post-inflammatory erythema (PIE), and curtailed acne breakouts after 3 weeks.

I also noticed an increased glow on my skin. Previously, my skin doesn’t glow much as it does now, there was an enhancement in my skin radiance, but nothing much extreme, but I definitely love the glow it gave to my skin.

Effect On Skin Texture.

The positive reviews and raves you’ve been hearing about rosehip oil isn’t a lie!!. My skin texture was greatly improved. The most amazing thing is, i saw results the next morning, my skin was lot more firmer, plumper and smoother with an amazing-dazzling glow.

Another redditor shared her amazing skin transformation with rosehip oil.

In as much as i hate oils, (due to the fact I have an oily and acne-prone skin) I think rosehip oil now has a place in my skincare routine. Its effect on my skin was absolutely magnificent. I had no breakouts of any sorts — which was my initial fear — but rather, my overall skin tone was improved for the better. So, if you see the need to include rosehip oil into your skincare routine, give this one a shot!.

What I Like About The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil.

  • Wallet-friendly.
  • 100% pure, organic cold-pressed.
  • Comes in a UV-protected packaging.

What I Dislike About The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil.

The scent can be overpowering – but that’s a natural, cold-pressed, 100% pure rosehip oil for you. 100% Pure rosehip oil does not carry any rose fragrance or a “flowery” scent as the oil is extracted from the seeds or fruits and not from the petals which contain the aromatic molecules. So don’t expect a pleasant smell.

If you can’t deal with the scent, you can mix some drops into your moisturizer in the palm of your hand prior to application, this will curtail the scent.

Possible Questions & Answers.

Q: How do you apply The Ordinary rosehip oil?

A: I apply The Ordinary’s rosehip oil at the second-to-last-step of my skincare routine (before my moisturizer) and after my water-based skin care topicals. I simply drop 2-3 drops on my face and massage gently on my entire face till fully absorbed, then I move on with my moisturizer. Sometimes I mix 2-3 drops of rosehip oil with my moisturizer in the palm of my hand before applying on face and neck.

Q: Is rosehip oil suitable for all skin types?

A: Rosehip oil is generally safe for all skin types, but allergic reaction may certainly happen (due to skin type differences). Before using rosehip oil for the first time, you should perform a patch test to make sure your skin can tolerate the oil.

Disclaimer: This is my personal experience with The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil, you may have a whole different experience as skin type differs so as result differs too.
